This advocacy is intended to ensure the quality of the judiciary. Despite criticism, the Federal Constitutional Court confirmed its constitutionality in 2017. The thesis analyses the historical and legal foundations of this advocacy, examines the effects on the professional freedom of lawyers and the rights of those seeking justice, provides new findings and presents reform proposals.
