An introductory text combining the basics of a mathematical modeling approach to evolution with a conceptual treatment of evolutionary processes

Mathematical models have played an integral role in the development of the sciences of evolution and ecology, and giving beginning students a comprehensive introduction to this approach can greatly enhance their understanding of these fields. This book provides readers with the mathematical building blocks used to model evolution-how to write equations describing natural selection, migration, mutation, sexual selection, and genetic drift-and shows how to combine them to address complex evolutionary questions.
