解説
This book deals with the design of circuits, devices, and systems at RF (radio frequency) and microwave frequencies using both the analytical technique and also the EDA (electronic design automation) software tools. EDA-based design technique is now used extensively and helps to translate the optimally designed structures directly to actual fabrication.
Salient features of the book:
- Covers fundamentals of RF and microwave devices and circuits in a concise manner to help students and design engineers refresh and recapitulate some of the basic concepts that are helpful from a designer's point of view.
- Provides design of RF matching circuit with stub matching technique with an analytical design approach supplemented by design using the Smith chart.
- Discusses RF/microwave filter basics along with the analytical design technique and also with the EDA simulation tool-based design of low-pass, band-pass, and band-stop filters. The design of recently emerging metamaterial-inspired filters has also been included.
- Discusses basic concepts of RF/microwave oscillators and amplifiers together with the design of IMPATT oscillator and varactor-tuned VCO, low-noise amplifier and power amplifier design using the EDA software tool.
- Microwave power combiner and microwave mixer design are given using the EDA simulation tool. Also, a brief discussion regarding RF/microwave antennas is given with design examples of conventional and metamaterial-inspired microstrip patch antenna.
- Concisely covers RF/microwave system design concepts, which are required by students and design engineers to understand the system performance along with some rudimentary design of RF/microwave communication and radar system using EDA simulation tools.
It is primarily written for senior undergraduates, graduate students, academic researchers and professionals engaged in electrical engineering, electronics and communication engineering, RF and microwave design, nanoelectronics, and physics studies.
