Emphasis is placed on promoting independence, goal-directed action and sustainable adaptation, whilst avoiding unintentional dependency. Guidance is also provided on how to systematically fade out scaffolded support, enabling BISs to consolidate skills, increase confidence and strengthen resilience, ensuring rehabilitation remains both compassionate and scientifically grounded.
