The first volume of the second edition of Rotor Systems covers the analysis of simple rotors, including bearing and gyroscopic effects, with the help of simple rotor-bearing models. It is biased toward the finite element method analysis for complex rotors, both for torsional and transverse vibrations, including the transfer matrix method. In torsional vibration geared-rotor and branched system is also covered. The torsional and transverse vibration analysis covers the free and forced vibration analyses.
