≫The Change in the Allocation of Court Business≪: The allocation of cases by the German courts through case management is caught between formal strictness and the (practical) need for the justice system to run as efficiently as possible. The defendant's right under German law to a statutory judge must be appropriately balanced with the constitutional requirement of a functioning administration of criminal justice and the constitutional principle of acceleration.
