There is major environmental, resource use, and related development challenges in South Asia, which have profound implications for health and well-being within the region, as well as for global environmental change and sustainability. At the same time, given its significance and growing share of the world's population and consumption, South Asia will crucially need to be an important part of the solution of sustainable well-being in the decades to come. The Routledge Handbook of the Environment in South Asia provides a comprehensive study of these issues.
