解説
The book is the English Festschrift for Martin Leiner's 60th birthday. Martin Leiner is the founder of Jena Center for Reconciliation Studies (JCRS) and president of the International Association for Reconciliation Studies (IARS). Since decades he is working to establish Reconciliation Studies as a new approach to Peace and Conflict Studies and as a new transdisciplinary field for academic research. The authors of the articles in the book include some of the most active and innovative scholars in Reconciliation Studies today. They reflect both the legacy of Martin Leiner and new directions in Reconciliation Studies. The Festschrift unites articles from various dicicplines: Economy, Education, Ethics, Geography, History, Islamic Studies, Law, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, and Theology. They cone from countries such as: Belgium, Colombia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Palestine, South Africa, Ukraine, and USA. This illustrates well the three principles the founder of Jena Center for Reconciliation Studies, prof. Leiner, underlined for Reconciliation Studies. 1. They are transdisciplinary and include even unexpected academic partners. 2. They are global in order to be able to compare case studies and 3. they include symbolic and cultural meanings of events. The book is special because each article presents new discoveries, with hugh potential for further researches.
