The goal of this new volume is to bring together three streams of research in current management literature that, while clearly overlapping in their underlying purposes and conceptual foundations, have developed somewhat independently over the last decade. This independence reflects subtle theoretical distinctions, disciplinary origins, and communities of practice that have tended to keep lines of research and theory separate from one another despite obvious complementarities and the potential for integrative advances. With the presentation of research from various perspectives, researchers are encouraged to explore these complementarities and integrations toward fruitful ends. It is apparent that different research areas are more similar to each other than they are different, and we present this integrative process and trend in the literature offered in this volume.
