This volume is a demographic case study of of a mixed population study. It attempts to reconstruct the demographic structures of the seventeenth-century central and southeastern European population by filling in the gaps of traditional sources of western demographies - parish registers, registers from feudal states and data from urbaria. The book provides a basis for the evaluation of conflicting historical claims and counter-claims made by various states in this region for territorial adjustments based on demographic factors.
