≫Prussia and its East in the Weimar Republic≪: The articles of this volume examine Prussian state and society in the political and constitutional context of the “Republic of Weimar”. The focus here is on the eastern provinces of Prussia, i.e. on Silesia, Pomerania and East Prussia. Three very different aspects have been chosen here. The first one envisages the constitutional history of the republican Prussia: How did the new republican constitution of Prussia develop after the end of the WW I.? And which constitutional concepts stood behind it? The second main aspect treated is an analysis of the most important political powers and parties which determined political scenery of the eastern Prussian provinces in the course of the 20ies and the early 30ies. Finally a third aspect is on architectural history treating the rise and the wide spread of modern functionalist architecture in urban planning of Prussia
