解説
The advent of the digital economy is rapidly changing the practice of management. Most business activities are digitized, and a new profile of workers has emerged since companies increasingly need to learn how to use data to support its operating decisions. However, technical skills alone seem to be not enough to succeed in the digital transformation era. Possessing behavioral, cognitive and social competencies, otherwise known as ‘soft skills’, has become a mandatory requirement for data professionals. This implies not only being able to establish and manage relationships with others, but it also requires self-awareness and self-management abilities. Against this background, this volume aims: i) to advance the understanding of the contents of the different professions that deal with Big Data, such as data scientists, business analysts, data analysts and business architects; ii) to provide a comprehensive review of the competency profile required by these professional roles with a specific focus on the behavioral competencies needed to achieve superior performance at work; iii) to provide the application of the competency modeling process in the area of business analytics professions and to offer new empirical insights on the job profiles and related behavioral competencies of data scientists and business analysts. It will be of interest to academics and professionals working in the field of digital management.
