≫Safety Regulations for Seagoing ?Traditional Vessels?≪ This work investigates to what extent existing safety regulations from the multi-level legal system of International Law, European Union Law an National Law are applicable to so-called ?traditional sea vessels’ and whether those safety regulations provide flexibility in their application to historical vessels. As a result the work gives an assessment on the overarching question whether the conflicting goals of ensuring safety for persons on board of historical vessels and of conserving the maritime heritage of those ships by presenting them on sea are compatible one with another.
