≫The Bond in Insolvency ? The Handling of Insolvency Proceedings in the Relationship of Tension between the German Act on Notes and the German Insolvency Act≪ In the event of the insolvency of bond issuers, both the German Act on Notes ? if the bond is subject to it ? and the German Insolvency Act apply. Section 19 of the German Act on Notes contains special provisions in the event of insolvency, with the aim of enabling effective handling of the insolvency proceedings and reducing interpretation difficulties between the two laws. The thesis shows, that section 19 of the German Act on Notes fails to achieve this objective, and finds a uniform solution of the legal issues unresolved in practice.
