With this information he is able to separate these events and perpetrators into four types: (1) Traditional, (2) Gang Related, (3) Associated and/or Mentally Ill, and, (4) Non-Associated and/or Mentally Ill, providing a better understanding of how and why these differences are significant. By knowing the different types of offender, administrators and parents can better predict the types of threats they pose and what security measures need to be taken to protect schools. It's the truth, administrators and parents need an accurate understanding of the extent, nature, and context of the problem in order to isolate and prevent future incidents of extreme school violence.
