This volume brings together representative samples of current statistical approaches to language acquisition that span the range of sub-areas in which these approaches have been pursued. The volume is a collection of chapters written by experts in these newly developing areas, spanning phonological acquisition, the acquisition of word forms, word categories, and word meanings, as well as chapters discussing statistical approaches more broadly, and statistical learning and language disorders. Taken together, the chapters will encompass a variety of computational and behavioral approaches to investigating statistical learning, including Bayesian approaches.
