解説

Workforce Diversity: Current and Emerging Issues and Cases is a textse book designed to introduce students to the core concepts, theoretical frameworks, and myriad issues surrounding the expansive topic of diversity within the workplace. The first three parts of the book address 1) the foundations of workforce diversity and six research-based, theoretical frameworks for managing diversity, 2) traditional workforce diversity issues, such as race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and class, and 3) emerging workforce diversity issues, including spirituality, intergenerational teams, cross-cultural teams, linguistic profiling, physical appearance, and disabilities. These first three parts follow a consistent chapter structure, which includes 10 to 15 pages of original text to present diversity concepts and issues plus two cases that demonstrate the issues presented - one original case and one published case. Part IV offers experiential exercises and resources such as interviewing guides and film analyses to encourage students to think critically about the issues presented and begin to practice how they might address various situations in the workplace. This text is ideal for diversity courses designed to meet the program needs in Human Resource Management, Human Resource Development, Management, Social Work Administration, and Educational Administration.
