In May 2007, the European Union and ASEAN agreed to launch negotiations on a free trade agreement (FTA), and talks are ongoing on the specific design and membership, with a joint working committee being established. This book identifies the present barriers in the relations between the regions, and aims to make an ASEAN-EU FTA useful as well as understandable to the business sector. It contains the proceedings of a panel discussion on how to make an ASEAN-EU FTA work for European business.
