The objective of the Global Investment Prospect Assessment (GIPA) is to assess short and medium term prospects for foreign direct investment (FDI) at the global, regional and industry levels; as well as analysing trends in national FDI policies and strategies of transnational corporations (TNCs). This publication sets out the findings of the GIPA survey for the period 2005-08, during which time overall prospects are found to be positive, with developing countries such as China, India and Brazil identified as being amongst the top ten performers in terms of global locations for FDI.
