This collection brings together Italian and Anglophone scholars to address the fundamental questions surrounding the form, function and textual depiction of early medieval Italian law. It emphasizes dynamism and opportunism, exploring the ways in which law and legal notions shaped, and were shaped by, Italian society and culture.
