解説

In 1993, the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) was mandated to carry out an extended programme of environmental performance reviews (EPRs) of European transition economies, designed to improve environmental management and reduce pollution in individual countries and to promote the co-operation and convergence of environmental policies throughout Europe. This publication considers the achievements of transition economies over the past decade in terms of environmental policy and management, and seeks to identify lessons and make recommendations for the future scope and direction of the EPR programme, at the national and regional levels.
