解説
In the final two decades of the 20th century, trade with and investment in the People's Republic of China (PRC) increased dramatically. So too has the number of disputes involving foreign companies and citizens in the PRC. For the most part, these disputes are being settled through arbitration within the territory of the PRC under Chinese arbitration rules. Two semi-official bodies host the arbitrations: China International Trade and Economic Commission and China Maritime Arbitration Commission (CMAC). This is an English version of the CMAC arbitral awards available for the public. The book includes 84 representative CMAC awards made from 1989 through 2001, which were selected by CMAC itself. Besides the awards, the book also includes the latest CMAC arbitration rules, fee schedule and list of arbitrators. The title should be valuable for all shipping companies doing business with the PRC, companies with cargoes shipped to or from the PRC, law firms handling maritime deals, arbitration commissions, and relevant governmental and academic institutes.
