解説

Identity Structure Analysis (ISA) is an extensive framework developed by Peter Weinreich for the analysis of identity. ISA integrates qualitative and quantitative representations of human appraisals of themselves within their biographic and socio-historical contexts of other people and life transitions. With wide-ranging implications, ISA can be used to generate empirically-based theoretical propositions about many clinical and societal phenomena. In this text, Peter Weinreich brings together researchers and clinicians who employ ISA in their work to demonstrate its applications to a number of clinical, societal and cultural issues. Topics covered include: anorexia nervosa and the identity dynamics of dysfunctional families; the impact of sexual abuse on identity development; gender identity in professional women; and ethnic identification in multi-cultural contexts. The book aims to be of interest to students and researchers in psychology, sociology, anthropology and health related fields. It may also be of use to clinical psychologists, psychotherapists and other clinicians.
