This work discusses the application of a coherent and comprehensive approach to information technology in business, and shows the benefits for an e-business. It outlines the major implications of e-business from the point of view of information systems now needed in companies, and looks at the processes necessary to put these systems in place. Through coverage of Business-to-Business-to-Consumer, the most widely used business models are addressed along with their implications for IS strategy. The need for long-term planning and the increased emphasis on flexibility and agility is examined, including how to translate strategies and plans into successful information systems, especially project management in the new environment.
