This work is a timely and original account of world religions told from the point of view of a group of pre-eminent female scholars. Contributors share with the reader how their particular religious tradition sheds light, in its own unique way, on the concept of religion itself; how it similarly offers insights valuable for the study of religion and what it tells us about being human. further, they reflect on the ways in which the tradition entered their lives, making them what they are now and how it might help to shape two futures: that of women and that of religion.
