解説
A synthesis of Polish history from earliest times to the present day. It is divided into sections demarcated by points of time that have proved decisive and significant for Poland and its people. The first section covers the "native-born" kings and princes, ending with the death of Kazimierz the Great. The next two sections discuss the links forged with Lithuania. This is followed by sections on electoral rule and the loss of independence in 1795; the period from Napoleonic times to World War I; short sections on the Second People's Republic and Poland at the time of World War II; and final sections on Poland under the domination of the USSR and Poland as it is today.
