This edited volume deals with the momentous change in the relations of Germany, a dominant European power which has been Poland's major ally and supporter in its quest to join NATO and the European Union since the 1990 reunification, and Poland, whose history has been tragically affected by its powerful neighbour for 200 years. This reconciliation is patterned on a similarly historic German-French rapprochement in the 1960s, which became the cornerstone of post-World War II European stability and security. Polish-German rapprochement is thus one of the major cornerstones of Europe at the dawn of the 21st century and might firmly anchor the new European order for a long time to come.
