English Family law is concerned largely with the rights and duties which derive from membership of a family unit. This text takes full account of changes in the law in the 1990s, examining the fundamental features of relevant legislation and covering topics including marriage, separation and divorce, domestic violence, guardianship and adoption. Particular attention is given to the extensive effects of the Children Act 1989 and the Child Support Acts 1991 and 1995. Fundamental changes in the divorce process introduced by the Family Act 1996 are set out in detail.
