解説
The name of Piercy Ravenstone appears in histories of economies as one of the earliest advocates of the theory of surplus value subsequently adopted by Karl Marx, and hence as one of the intellectual ancestors of communism. In this book Ravenstone argues against Malthus's theory that over-population is the cause of poverty: his belief is that poverty is due to the workings of the capitalist system.
