解説
A history of the Central Asian diaspora, this text examines the exodus, re-settlement and emigrant life of the half million Central Asian (Muslim and White Russian) refugees of the 1917 Russian Revolution. It provides an analysis of migrant Central Asian identity focusing not only on the ex-Soviet states of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, the Krygyz Republic and Kazakhstan, but also on northern Afghanistan, western China and to a lesser extent, north-eastern Persia.
