As globalizations of all sorts continue to gain momentum, the idea of democratic participation in political community is becoming ever less tangible. Poverty in World Politics features a collection of articles on the failures to realise democratic ideals in a 'global era', evident in the exclusionary processes of a globalising world economy and the persistence and increase in poverty.
