The aim of this revised guide is to provide an up-to-date introduction to research tools and library services in the USA which are related to women and gender. The core of the book is an annotated bibliography that describes selected women-focused information sources (both print and electronic) and evaluates the traditional reference aids available in most college libraries in terms of their usefulness in women's-studies research. The selections are intended to reflect the growth of feminist scholarship within the disciplines and the emergence of new fields of study such as lesbian studies and women in science. The book also addresses the general principles of library organization, illustrates the planning and conduct of systematic information searches, and includes a new section on the Internet.
