This volume looks at primary care, through an examination of the history of development in healthcare and through the application of a systems analysis to that process. Further chapters consider the new forms of organization and management in primary care and the development, education and training of the professions involved. Recommendations are made about these aspects as a framework for consideration of the politics of primary care, both institutionally and in relation to emerging ideas about citizen participation.
