解説
This work focuses on the environmental development of three African capital cities - Accra, Harare and Gaborone - and their water and waste services. All are former colonial British capitals, and share similarities in their relative affluence amongst other African nations; however the contributors establish that each has a deteriorating urban environment despite efforts to provide public services. Examining similarities in public policy, market environments, and policy successes and failures, the contributors highlight three differing approaches to water and waste provisions.
