This text looks at island tourism in a broad thematic sense and in different regional settings. The book highlights key issues in both island literature and that of tourism, dealing with the attributes of islands which fascinate tourists, and examining the issues in particular contexts. A wide range of tourism environments is covered, from mass market destinations to islands where there is currently very little tourism. The study deals with groups of islands which have been the subject of little or no research, including the South Atlantic, and the Orkney and Shetland Islands.
